Wakeboarding History

Wakeskate

Wakeboarding is a variant of water skiing. Water skiing itself is a variant of ice skiing and road skating. In such a scenario, it is not surprising that there are sports that are variants of wakeboarding itself.

Wakeskating is a variant of wakeboarding. As you would know, the wake is the turbulence generated by the motor boat that is towing the person on the wakeboard. The person balances the board and performs tricks and stunts with the help of the wake. These stunts include those that involve jumping in the air as well.

So what does wakeskating involve and what is a wakeskate? It is a water sport where there is nothing binding the individual to the wakeboard. There are different types of bindings used to ensure the individual on the wakeboard remains firmly attached to it at all times. This binding, when absent, converts your wakeboarding experience into a wakeskating experience.
